this salad will cost you 0 in terms of calories. most probably, you'll even have to burn a little more calories to digest it... this is just like working out... so let's say that this salad is a good workout for your metabolism
ever heard of negative calorie foods?! these are foods that require more food energy to be digested than they actually provide.
cucumbers, green or red bell peppers, celery, mushrooms, broccoli, spinach, kale, lettuce, asparagus, cabbage, leeks, cauliflower, onions etc.
actually, there's no scientific proof that these foods have negative calories, but on my nutrition plan they are still considered 'free' foods. this means that you can have them as much as you want and whenever you want.
this is my 'free' summer salad made of:
cucumbers
bell pepper (i used yellow, cos i didn't have green or red. yellow bell peppers contain sugars so i don't count them as 'free'. the sugar content is very very low, but for some people and in some cases it still counts)
red onion
apple cider vinegar
