people would do anything in order to lose fat... ok, will they? really? naaah! not every diet or fat-loss plan fits everybody's need this is why there are so many diets out there. but do they really work? some of them do, but once you are done with the dieting process... will you be able to maintain that hot rockin' body for life? (still if you managed to get that hot rockin' body)
there are three main and crucial things that you MUST consider when choosing a fat-loss plan:
-if it's healthy
-if you'll be able to sustain it for ever
-if it's personalized
if you want to be healthy, you certainly need to nourish your body with healthy foods. if you are not allergic or intolerant to a certain ingredient, there's really no reason to cut it out from your nutrition. there are some foods that make an exception like soy that i'm really against to for it's estrogenic properties or some other foods that mess the hormones. but for the rest, if the food you are eating is natural, there's really no reason to eliminate it. eliminating natural foods from your diet only leads to nutrient deprivation which can have very bad consequences on your health and body.
also keep in mind that the plan you choose must be sustainable. because if you are not able to follow it for a month, a year or for life, you wont' be able to maintain the results. i don't support diets. diets do work, but once you are back to your previous eating habits, you are most likely to regain the weight back, right?! in fact, those eating habits where the ones that made you gain weight, right?!
last but not least you must consider the fact if the plan is personalized, meaning it is built for your macronutrient and caloric needs. every and and each person has his own needs.. beacuse of age, height, health issues, food intolerances, activity level, carb sensitivity, metabolic damage, etc. if a fat-loss plan doesn't take these factor into account, i'm not sure about hte results and the consequences on your body.
i'm not saying that my nutrition plan is the one that fits your needs... once i had this athlete who gave up my plan after a couple of months and preferred to switch to a diet (made by a doctor, btw) on which he could have prepacked cookies and had to eat less. so he practically preferred an unhealthy diet with less food. sure, that's so much easier.. you don't need to prepare your meals, you don't need to lose time checking food labels, you don't need to eat every 3 hours.. that sounds almost as a full-time job. where's he today? still around complaining that he's working his ass off but can't get the results he want.
so next time you are putting yourself on a fat-loss plan, think about these 2 points (healthy, sustainable).. i'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.
