HOME-MADE CHEWY PROTEIN BAR

for 8 bars:
2 1/3 cup protein powder
1 oz/ 30g dark chocolate, chopped
1/2 cup + 1 Tbs peanut butter, unsweetened
4 oz/ 120g cream cheese, 0 or low fat
1 oz/ 30g almonds, chopped
1/4 cup stevia
vanilla extract
unsweetened cocoa (if you want it more chocolatey)

mix all the ingredients and press into a box. freeze for 1h and then cut into bars. wrap each bar in foil and keep them in the freezer. grab one whenever you want, it will thaw in your bag.

if you want, you can coat each bar in dark chocolate by melting the chocolate and spreading it over the bars.

    1. nope. it contains fats. these make a good snack on the go. for pre-workout have some complex carbs and lean protein about 30-1h before you start. in this way you make the energy easily available to the body which doesn't have to do the hard work and metabolize the fats. for post-workout simple sugars and whey protein are perfect.
