SUPPLEMENTS...

many times i get questions about supplements but i have to admit that i'm not a big fan of them. yes, i do take some supplements and yes, i experimented many (on myself and my clients) but never seen these amazing results that they promise. on my modest opinion, you shouldn't worry too much about supplementing.. you should worry more about your nutrition. why would you worry about supplementing with vitamins, minerals, aminos, etc when you don't worry too much about your diet. first get your macros right (protein, carbs, fats) and then worry about the rest. nutrition comes first. if you have that right, you don't need to supplement too much. especially if you are not an athlete.

there are also studies that suggest that supplementing with vitamins can help turn healthy cells into cancer cells. not sure about that, but again... if your diet is right and you consume healthy foods, you don't need to get your vitamins and minerals in a chemical form. especially because our body doesn't absorb the chemical stuff like the natural one... it treats it like toxic.

save your money and invest it in healthy whole foods instead.

  1. Supplements are a must today, with the way food is grown in soils! Maybe not iron supplement, but selenium supplement is a must.

  2. there are some regions where selenium deficiency is very common and people living in those areas should pay attention to consume enough foods rich in selenium or supplement with it. among these regions are africa, china, russia etc and also some parts of the united states like the atlantic coast, the pacific northwest, etc. especially if you work out on a daily basis a good multivitamin does the job. it is very important to reintroduce the minerals lost with sweating, but if you already drink enough water throughout the day and don't avoid salt, you are fine.
