4 TIPS FOR AN EASY PEASY MEAL PREP

planning ahead is the key to success. if you don't plan your meals ahead, you can be sure you'll fail. you know very well that when you are hungry the desire to stop on the go and grab sth is just too big. and what about those times when you rush home, still haven't eaten and have to put way the groceries, cook, take care of the kids, clean the house...what do you do?! you usually a) grab some junk food (usually chocolate, right?!) b) skip the meal

planning is so much easier and it saves you a lot of time because you have to cook just once!

so here are some tips:
#1 COOK IN BATCHES
you can cook all your meals just once or twice a week. and when you already know what you usually eat, you are free in less than an hour! brown rice and boiled veggies can be prepared days ahead and stored in the refrigerator. same thing for the fish. personally i don't really like grilling chicken in advance because it becomes hard the second day... but if you chop it to pieces and mix it in your rice or salad, it tastes good!
some people also like to pre-chop their veggies and store them in an air-tight container but i don't recommend doing so. fruits and veggies lose their nutrients as the time goes by. you can still pre-chop them for the next day, but i wouldn't store them for longer. i like to make my lunch salad the night before when i'm preparing the dinner salads, so that the next day i just take it out of the fridge (don't season your salads in advance!)

#2 PACK YOUR FOOD STRATEGICALLY
once you are done cooking, prepare your portions so you'll have the meals ready to take away! time to buy some tupperware!

#3 GET A CONVENIENT COOLER
it hasn't to be fancy. it hasn't to be big. it has to be convenient! not too big, not too small. it has to be easy to carry around! the size really depends on how much time you spend away from home and how many meals you have to take with you.

#4 ALWAYS KEEP A PROTEIN BAR OR SHAKE IN YOUR CAR OR BAG
there will be times when you'll have to work extra hours or when you'll find yourself stuck in the traffic jam... so having a protein bar in your bag can prevent you from skipping a meal or cheating
